CHPCA to Present and Exhibit at the McGill International Palliative Care Congress 2024

CHPCA is joining participants from around the world to gather in Montreal, Quebec, October 15-18 at this premier event in palliative care. CHPCA will be presenting as part of the conference program and have a booth in the Congress exhibit hall.

The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA) today announced they will be sending four delegates to Montreal, Quebec to represent CHPCA at the 24th McGill International Palliative Care Congress.
Founded in 1976 by Dr. Balfour Mount, The McGill International Palliative Care Congress is held biennially in Montreal, Canada and is the longest running congress for the field. Highly regarded for its unique blend of humanism and science, this prestigious event attracts over 1,500 delegates from more than 65 countries. It offers a distinctive platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and learning among palliative care clinicians, scientists, and advocates.
On the third day of the event, CHPCA will conduct a workshop titled: Reimagining Advance Care Planning Through an Accessible Lens. Workshop participants will:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Canadian Advance Care Planning Landscape, informed by the latest 2024 National Survey data. This study surveyed over 3,000+ people across Canada, and for the first time, includes a specific focus on those living with disabilities.
- Recognize the importance of and emphasize supported decision making, intersectionality, universal design, and accessibility within the context of Advance Care Planning.
- Apply acquired ACP knowledge effectively, compassionately, and confidently when supporting individuals with disabilities and when developing accessible resources within their respective organizations and practices.
